    Abstract

Eclipta (Compositae: Heliantheae) in eastern Asia is taxonomically revised, and four species are recognized, of which E. angustata is described here as new.  One species, Eclipta alba, is introduced from the New World, and the other three species are endemic in eastern Asia.  Eclipta prostrata and E. angustata are distributed in Thailand as well as in the neighbouring areas, but E. thermalis is known in the temperate regions of eastern Asia.
