Ajit Mohan
Indian technology executive
Ajit Mohan is an Indian technology executive who is currently working as the president of Asia-Pacific region at Snap Inc.[2] Previously, he served as vice president and managing director of Meta India (formerly Facebook India) and was also the chief executive officer of Star India's streaming media platform Hotstar. Mohan was a consultant for the firms Arthur D. Little and McKinsey & Company earlier in his career, and he was a member of the Internet and Mobile Association of India and the Museum of Art & Photography, among other organizations.
Early life and education
[edit]Mohan was born in Kochi, Kerala.[3] His father completed signals intelligence work for the Indian Air Force and fought in the Sino-Indian War.[3] Mohan was raised in Eloor's Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited neighborhood. In 1993, at the age of 18, he received a scholarship and boarded his first flight to study in Singapore, where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in computer engineering from Nanyang Technological University.[4][5] Mohan also earned a master's degree in international relations from the Paul H. Gopal Vittal
Indian business executive
Gopal Vittal (born 1967) is an Indian business executive. He is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bharti Airtel (India) and South Asia, an Indian multinational telecommunications services company with operations in 20 countries.[2][3]
Vittal has an undergraduate degree from Madras Christian College and MBA from IIM Calcutta.[4] He did his schooling at Rishi Valley School in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Career
[edit]After graduating from IIM Calcutta in 1990, he joined Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), one of India's biggest FMCG companies. Early in his career at HUL, he did two stints as an Area Sales Manager, and worked in Brooke Bond and several skincare brands. One of his biggest achievements in HUL was Project Bharat, a successful rural-reach strategy that incentivized people in rural areas to try HUL's products.[1]
In 2006, he was roped in by Sunil Mittal (founder and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises) to join Bharti Airtel as the head of marketing. His first stint at Airtel lasted only two years, till 2008.
