She is undoubtedly one of the most successful local gospel artistes today. With four successful albums under her wrap, Emmy Kosgei says this could be the most exciting year in her music career.

"I am honoured and happy that my music is loved and appreciated by many despite the language barrier. The fact that it has played a big role in bringing communities together, promoting African culture, and also inspiring the youth is a sign of good things to come," she says.

Today the gospel crooner boasts of numerous awards, including an honorary prize from President Kibaki, which she sees as a great honour.
