    Quarterback (– )

The Titans used the second overall pick in the NFL Draft on Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. In his first two NFL seasons, Mariota passed for 6, yards and 45 touchdowns, while throwing only 19 interceptions. His passer rating during that time ranked sixth in NFL history for a player's first two NFL campaigns, trailing only Kurt Warner (), Dan Marino (), Nick Foles (), Russell Wilson () and Ben Roethlisberger (). As a rookie, the 6-footinch, pound signal caller validated his draft selection by posting the third-highest passer rating in franchise history () and the fifth-highest rookie completion percentage in NFL history (). He was the first player in franchise history to open his rookie season in Week 1 as the starting quarterback. He became the second rookie quarterback in NFL history (Peyton Manning) to complete three touchdown passes in four different games and the only NFL rookie to record two games with four touchdown passes and no interceptions. Mariota was the fifth Heisman Trophy winner to be drafted by the Oilers/Titans (Derrick Henry became the sixth in ), joining Billy Cannon, Earl Campbell, Mike Rozier and Eddie George.
