Narendra Modi Stadium History
Narendra Modi Stadium History – Narendra Modi Stadium, formerly known as Motera Cricket Stadium, designed the largest cricket stadium in the world; in Ahmedabad, India. The project, home to the Gujarat Cricket Association, was built in collaboration with India’s leading contractors, Larsen & Toubro.
The Challenge Spanning 63 hectares, the 110,000-seat stadium more than doubles the capacity of the old stadium and holds 10,000 more than Australia’s iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. The scope of the project presented its own challenges in providing a completely unobstructed view of the field for each of the 110,000 seats. The time frame was another challenge for the design team. Despite its size, the stadium will be built within three years. It includes 76 corporate boxes, four team dressing rooms and facilities, state-of-the-art club facilities with three training pitches, an indoor cricket academy and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
