Early life and family
[edit]Anderson-Emmons is the daughter of Amy Anderson and Kent Emmons, who are separated. Her mother is a stand-up comedian, actor, and manager of Korean origin.[3] Her father is a media entrepreneur.[4]
Career
[edit]Anderson-Emmons joined the cast of Modern Family in its third season in 2011, when she replaced Ella and Jaden Hiller in the role of Lily Tucker-Pritchett,[5][6] a Vietnamese-born child adopted by a gay American couple. A South African born artist, Audrey Anderson completed her BA Fine Arts (Honours) degree at the University of Pretoria in 2006. Since her first project space exhibition, titled Zamalek (2008), at Gordart Gallery in Johannesburg, she has participated in numerous international and local exhibitions at galleries, art fairs, art studios and many other public spaces.
As a full time artist, she has been part of many arts initiatives some of which were supported by different patrons. Her continual work as an exploring creative has resulted in her winning the 2016 SA Taxi Foundation Art Award. In April 2018 she participated in a partly EU funded project at the artist residency Arteles Creative Center in Finland.
Audrey is currently working at a collective studio space in Linden, Johannesburg.
Her artworks are included in the collections of Nandos UK and SA, Hollard, Spier, Alpine Attitude, Taxi SA, The South African National Art Bank.
